Exciting Consultant Psychiatrist Roles in Child and Adolescent Mental Health – Multiple Opportunities Available in Perth Medipeople is partnering with a leading Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Perth to recruit Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists for multiple permanent and fixed-term positions. These opportunities span a variety of service areas and include full-time, part-time, sessional, and casual roles, with the potential for ongoing or permanent employment.

The Opportunities:
We are seeking passionate and experienced psychiatrists to join one or more of the following specialist teams within CAMHS:

  • Inpatient Mental Health Unit

  • Acute Care and Crisis Response

  • Gender Diversity Service

  • Community Mental Health Clinics

Current Vacancies Include:
  • 2 x 1.0 FTE – CAMHS Crisis Connect

  • 1 x 1.0 FTE – Inpatient Unit

  • 2 x 1.0 FTE – Community CAMHS

  • 1 x 0.4 FTE – Gender Diversity Service

Your Role:
As a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will:

  • Deliver expert psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.

  • Contribute to the multidisciplinary team and engage in teaching, research, and quality improvement.

  • Play a key role in shaping service delivery in your chosen clinical area.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with AHPRA.

  • Fellowship (or near completion) with RANZCP.

  • Overseas trained specialists from the UK, Ireland, USA (ABPN-certified), Canada or New Zealand with at least 3 years of Consultant-level experience are welcome to apply.

  • Completion (or near completion) of the Certificate in Advanced Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is highly desirable.

Service Overview: Crisis Connect Service:
Provides immediate support for young people in mental health crisis via phone and online consultations. Also offers in-person care at Perth’s primary paediatric emergency department.

Inpatient Mental Health Unit:
This 20-bed state-wide service provides comprehensive inpatient psychiatric care for young people up to 16 years. Supported by a full MDT and junior medical staff, care responsibilities are shared among three psychiatrists.

Gender Diversity Service:
A specialised outpatient program supporting children and adolescents with gender diversity concerns, offering holistic and inclusive care.

Community CAMHS:
A network of 10 metropolitan clinics providing community-based mental health care for infants, children, and adolescents. Clinic allocation can be tailored based on your preferences and location.
