The General Skilled Migration (GSM) programme is a suitable immigration pathway for health professionals to independently obtain permanent residency in Australia without the support of an employer.

Highly skilled health professionals applying under this programme must:
+ be over 18 and under 45 years of age
+ have a positive skills assessment completed by the relevant skills assessment authority
+ have good English language ability
+ have recent skilled work experience
